Captain's
log...“This first half of the season has been a solid start for the fifth team and we could not have asked for more considering we are formed of players who had not played together before. Although the first few games didn’t go as we would have wanted, we soon clicked as a team and have gone from strength to strength. We have shown a number of sides to out game, being able to battle it out against the weather conditions whilst playing great flowing football at the fortress that is the Paddock! Most notably wins against the 1st teams of Birmingham and local rivals Nottingham. Our biggest win this year came against Staffs Stoke Uni where it was great to get five goals on the score sheet. The defence is looking more as a unit now, and with the midfield dominating and creating opportunities, the forwards are reaping the benefits and scoring goals at will.” “There is definitely a great base to build on in the new year, and with the awesome team spirit we have I'm sure we can progress through to the knock out stages and get our hands on the silverware that you lads deserve. It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable start to the season I’m sure you will all agree. From all the team I would like to thank Dida for all his hard work and commitment so far, and we look forward to working with the Dida-Telfs combo in the new year. Top work lads and lets keep it up in 2007!” ![]() |
