Can you tell me about your time at Loughborough, highlights and
lowlights... Highlights, are the times we all went out as a big social, winning matches and then hitting the union after. Lowlights include, being injured, not winning a BUSA medal or a woman!
Can you shed any light on your footy career outside of Loughborough?
As a youngster, played for CF Malaga. Had trials for Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Everton. Had a one week trial for Valencia and Real Madrid.
What is the highest achievement in your career so far?
Obviously playing for Loughborough!! No most probably my week at Real Madrid, was a real eye opener, met some really talented kids, some who made it and some who didn’t.
And which is your most memorable game for Loughborough?
For some reason, losing the BUSA semi final away to Bath was really harsh. That game sticks in my mind. Most probably playing for the freshers' team when we won the league and cup. That was pretty special.
Who is your best friend in LSAFC (not including Nick Drew)?
Besides Nick Drew!! Let me think!!! Nah, most probably Dave Buck we had some good times together. Getting into trouble for plagiarism was good fun!! Fight the establishment!!!
Have you any funny tales that you can tell us?
Too many too write down. I'll make sure that when I next come to University I'll come out to a football social and you can buy me a pint and I'll tell you some stories of the good ole days.
Which team do you support?
Chelsea FC till I die. And of course CF Malaga.
Who is your childhood hero and why?
Got to be Caminero and Stokoiv from back in the day. I went to USA ‘94 and watch them two play and it was incredible!!
What three items would you take to a desert island and why?
A lady friend, to have long “conversations” with. A Swiss army knife, those things are brilliant!!! Last but not least, my best friend, the guitar!!!
Are there any youngsters we should look out for coming through the ranks?
Look out for a young lad called Jesus Gamez, plays for CF Malaga and is a good friend of mine. Also there is a foreigner playing down here, goes by the name of the Englishman, his name is Richard Sutcliffe. WATCH OUT FOR HIM!!!
When people say in football ‘play in the hole’, can you tell me where that is?
My most favoured position. Just behind the striker and just in front of the midfielders. With the freedom to express your self over the whole pitch. Most teams use this position to link up the strikers with the midfielders.
How do you think England will fair in the world cup this summer? Who is your tip to win it?
Who cares?? Spain is going to win it!!!!
Lastly, what does the future hold for your football career? Do you have a message for the lads at LSAFC?
For me the future lies in football. Whether it be playing or coaching I don’t want to do anything else. Also only in Spain, England is too wet and cold for me!!
