JACK ROBINSON REVEALED
Our
club chairman and first team keeper,
LSAFC Online caught up
with Jack Robinson to get an insight into his life and his views on the
football club...
Can you tell me about your time at Loughborough, highlights and
lowlights...
I am in the first team, and was last year when we won BUSA. That was
pretty special, and the night out after was pretty amazing as well, n****
run and a Mugals, could it be any better!! Most of the initiations have
been fun and the end of season ball was hilarious.
Can you shed any light on your footy career outside of Loughborough?
I started playing football at my local Sunday league club Pannal Ash, and
was signed for the Leeds United Academy at U9s. I played for them until
U16s and then signed for Manchester United but was released at U17s. I
then played for Farsley Celtic, a Unibond Div 1 team for a couple of
years, and then came to Loughborough, where I've only really played for
the Uni team
What is the highest achievement in your career so far?
Winning BUSA was pretty good, and hopefully we can do it again, but
I've also played at Elland Road, the home of Leeds United, and now I am
lucky enough to be chairman of the best footballing university in Britain
And which is your most memorable game for Loughborough?
Although I didn't play, it was probably the BUSA final last year, the
game was very tense and when we won the feeling was great.

Who was your best friend in LSAFC?
Probably Windy, the keepers union is a strong one.
Have you any funny tales that you can tell us?
Well it was Barks, many a drunken tale i.e. 3 life bans from the
union, but he's left now. So I think that Brownie and Liam could be a good
double act, the constant banter about the north south divide is a good
one.
Which team do you support?
The mighty Leeds Leeds Leeds
Who is your childhood hero and why?
I had a few, mainly for their goalkeeping ability and technique, they
were Peter Schmeichel, just for being a legend, Nigel Martyn because he
was a fantastic goalkeeper, and Paul Robinson because he came through the
Leeds United youth system and made it, so I wanted to aspire to that.
How do you think England will fair in the world cup this summer? Who is
your tip to win it?
I think that if we play as a team then we can go all the way to the
final and win it, but you can never count out the Brazilians!
Lastly, what does the future hold for your football career?
This season's gone well so far, myself and Dougie are starting to relax as
chairmen, and I've kept a couple of clean sheets and we are starting to
win comfortably now. I think that if we play well as a team and finish all
the chances we create, then we can definitely win BUSA again!!!
A huge thanks to 'Jack' for this article.
