EXAMPLES OF LSAFC ALUMNI 5-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT EVENING SHIRTS!
The club have released the following examples of Ballooning
Shirts for the evening of the Alumni tournament on 14th June.

DIVER TESTIMONIAL
It was with regret that former Loughborough University 1st Team and
former British Universities Student, Lee Howarth finally announced
his decision to hang up his massive boots last week (12/06/07).
His professional career saw action with Peterborough United,
Mansfield, Barnet and Blackpool; [Honours: League 1 Play Off final
winners @ the old Wembley 1992].
His Semi-Professional career saw action with amongst others
Stevenage, Boston, Bedford, Chorley. His student career saw action
with British Students, English Universities, the 89ers all-star
5aside team and of course 3 English Championship winners medals with
Loughborough 1st team, not to mention starring in the JCs, Dagmar,
the Crown & Cushion, the Griffin and Sammy’s!
Despite enjoying a successful coaching apprenticeship in the late
80’s with Hills Soccer in New Jersey, Lee feels that his next steps
will not be in the Coaching arena but will be to spend his
Saturday’s in his palatial 30 ft back garden in Peterborough & in
his local garden centre where he hopes his keen interest in
horticulture hopes to bloom. Lee renowned for his outgoing and light
hearted personality then hopes to create a floral montage to many of
his ex-playing colleagues such as: Adrian Boothroyd, Alan Pardew,
Steve Parkin, Marcus Ebdon, Shaun Devine, Rob “Pinky Matthews”, Paul
“McGuinn” McGuiness, Mark “Wescott” Prescott, Tim “Crazylegs” Crane;
plus social colleagues such as Ben “Little Ben” Dobson, Jonny
“Vegas” Vegh, Kieren “The Lizard” Sutcliffe.
Highlights:
Horwich RMI FC - GMAC Cup winners 1986/7 (v Weymouth team
containing Sean Teale, Steve Claridge & Tony Agana!)
Kettering Town FC (Southern Premier League Champions 2001/2)
St Patricks Athletic FC - player of month Feb 1992 (only foray into
European football apart from Anglo-Italian Cup when we never
qualified for Italian stage [pointless really] - met my wife -
unsure yet whether this counts as highlight or massive blunder)
Captain British Students 1991 - Bronze medal 1991 Student games
(exotic Sheffield - remember dancing on the gravestones?)
Captain British & English Universities 1990 & 1991(for the Wescott
so he can remember his place as I NEVER captained Lboro!!!!!!!)
Southern Premier League Play-off Winners 2005/6 with Bedford Town FC
Other play off lowlights:
Barnet V Colchester 1998/9 play-off final - gave penalty away and
got dismissed (separate incidents) with team winning & 20mins from
Wembley (lost extra-time)
Mansfield v Chesterfield 1995/6 play-off final - lost 5-2 after
extra-time (finished with 9 men) afetr being 25mins from Wembley
(not my fault this time)
Notable Others:
As an apprentice whilst at Blackpool FC for going into licensed
premises within 48 hours of a match to watch a "Miss Blackpool"
contest, only to find upon arrival that the judge of the competition
was in fact Sam Ellis, the then 1st team manager!
We hope Lee (aka The Diver aka The Bear) manages to keep in shape
for his 40th birthday in January and is able to still pull on the
AstroBoots for next year’s charity 5aside.
